The colossal statue is 200 feet long, 150 feet wide and 70 feet high making it the world's largest functional bird sculpture It is believed that Jatayu, the giant vulture from the epic Ramayana fell here after being injured by Ravana, who kidnapped Goddess Sita. Giant concrete statue of Jatayu is built on a mighty rock named Jatayupara ("para" means rock in Malayalam).
For travelers, there are more reasons to visit Jatayupara. For instance, the statue accommodates 15,000 square feet of utility space inside its functional sculpture. Inside the wing of the Jatayu sculpture, a multi-dimension mini-theatre is coming soon. On the hilltop, a rainwater reservoir has been built, with a storage capacity of 1.5 million litres of water. Cable car ride built and operated by Udan Khatola is another major attraction of this Center.
It is a breathtaking experience to journey in a fully glass-covered cabin over the gigantic hills and valleys as each second unfolds a fresh panoramic view of the landscape in all its beauty and splendor. Currently, there are 16 cable cars, capable of carrying 8 passengers in each car which travels a distance of 560 meters and a vertical rise of 129 meters.
