Maa Chandidevi Ropeway is a modern ropeway of its kind in South Asia. The pilgrims can reach both the temples located on the hilltop by the ropeway in around 5 minutes, while the steep climb by steps takes over One hour. It is operational since 1997.
The temple is Set on the Neel Parvat of the Shivalik Hills, the religious site was constructed by Suchat Singh in 1929 during his rule as the King of Kashmir. However, the idol of Chandi Devi at the temple is said to have been founded in the eighth century by Adi Shankaracharya, one of the top priests of the Hindu religion.
